Development Scientist I - Biochemistry

1 permanent position Full Time


Job Purpose
The position involves development and validation of biochemical assays, processes and regulatory data to drive improvements in the delivery and support of current and future products.

Key Responsibilities
• Biochemical test development, troubleshooting, validation and sample analysis.
• Biochemical product and sera evaluation for new and existing products using novel platforms developed in-house and with contract research organisations.
• Development, preparation & support of critical and complex analytical systems and reagents
• Provide expert advice to multi-disciplinary teams in the areas of sera analysis, assay development,
• Re-validation of assays using cross-validated sera and reference preparations.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required
• Proven experience in assay or process development and validation, ideally within a Pharmaceutical/ Biotechnology environment.
• Proven experience in technical documentation.
• Proven proficiency in manipulation of scientific data.
• Proven, transferable planning and organisational skills.
• Keen scientific interest with a degree or higher in Biochemistry or related discipline and/or at least 12 months experience working within a relevant analytical/development area within a pharmaceutical environment.

Production Technician – Specifics Manufacturing

1 permanent position Full Time


Job Purpose
To complete production operations for named patient vaccines within Specifics Manufacture at the Noon building.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out production activities in a compliant manner following batch records and SOPs
• Observe GMP standards in all aspects of work
• Completion of appropriate documentation to GMP standards
• Understand TROPOS transactions
• Work and react to customer demands
• Organise, prioritise and maintain schedule and order adherence within production
• Demonstrate Company Behaviours

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required
• Work methodically
• Pay meticulous attention to detail
• Work and react to targets and deadlines
• Demonstrate good time keeping & flexibility in work patterns

As part of the QC Biochemistry team, the successful candidate will conduct testing on a wide variety of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform testing on samples using Standard Analytical Methods.
• Sampling of raw materials for QC testing.
• Work as part of the QC team to improve working systems and practices.
• Maintain an accurate record of work on paper and computer based systems.
• To undertake training of QC Scientists Level I.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required
• Intermediate scientific knowledge and understanding i.e. science degree or relevant 1-2 years pharmaceutical experience
• Able to work in a demanding environment, following Good Laboratory Practice.
• Have a flexible approach to changes in schedule.
• Be able to communicate with a variety of different people from across the business.
• Good team player.
• Able to use problem solving skills and initiative.

Services Technician

Fixed term position for 12 months

Working hours – full time (8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday)

 

Job Purpose
To support production activity in Freeman and Noon buildings as well as supporting various functions across the business.

 

Key Responsibilities
• To move, collect and distribute critical items and equipment between buildings with use of company van
• To ensure the Freeman and Noon clean suites and supporting areas are fully serviced with laundry, consumables and equipment made available on demand.
• Be responsible for the control of waste streams for the company.
• See in deliveries when required in designated loading bay areas
• To demonstrate Company behaviours and standards.

 

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required
• Able to react to changing and challenging customer demands.
• Demonstrate good time keeping and flexibility in work patterns.
• High level of customer service.
• Able to plan and organise daily work load.
• Validated (or able to be) to enter clean suites.
• Good level of written/verbal communication skills.
• Show Initiative, be self motivated and proactive.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• Driving license essential.
